FAQs

Q.    How can I be sure that Doctor-Sonicssm won’t compete against my company in the future once I introduce you to my clients?

A.  We understand your concern, and it is valid.  We will not work directly for your clients in the future if you at some point decide to introduce us to them.  We protect your future financial interests with a stringent noncompete clause in our standard agreement .

Q. How can I be sure that Doctor-Sonicssm won’t disclose my company’s confidential information or intellectual property?

A.   We understand the importance of maintaining your confidential information and not disclosing it.  Our standard agreement has a confidentiality and non-disclosure clause.

 Q.    What are your billing rates?

A.  There are too many variables to have fixed billing rates.  But, we do have some general information that may help you.

  • We generally establish the scope of work you need and agree to a fixed, lump sum amount for that work.
  • We like for that lump sum amount to be about 15% below what your company will bill your client for our work.  That provides some profit to your company and covers some of your administrative costs for our scope of work.
  • Our fees also vary based on the payment terms you select.

Q.  What are your payment terms?

A.  We try to work with you on our payment terms based on your payment terms with your client.  Generally, our payment terms are 60 days from invoice date.  However, we understand that some projects will be on a ‘pay-if/when-paid’ basis.  Doctor-Sonicssm  also accepts all major credit cards for payments.  You (or if you wish to pass on the savings, your client) can benefit from greatly discounted rates by paying at least 50% at the commencement of our services and the balance (including reimbursable expenses) the day final deliverables are submitted.

Q.    Does Doctor-Sonicssm have its own computer equipment, specialty software and measurement instrumentation, or do you expect to use ours?

A.     We are equipped with everything we need to complete our services.  We do not expect to use any of your resources.  Occasionally we may rent specialty devices that are not used regularly by our business.  These are probably the same devices you would need to rent as well if doing the work yourself.

Q.    Does Doctor-Sonicssm meet the IRS and common law criteria as an independent contractor?

A.     Yes. This is an important point since there is a definite difference between a true independent contractor (paid via a 1099) and a part-time employee (paid via a W2).  As a business, you do NOT have to pay social security, Medicare and unemployment taxes on payments to Doctor-Sonicssm like you would for an employee (fulltime or part-time).  This increases your profitability.  For more information on this matter, please refer to IRS Publication 15-A (a http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p15a.pdf)

Q.    If we use Doctor-Sonicssm services, will my company, my clients or my projects be used publically by Doctor-Sonicssm for marketing purposes?

A.  No.  We consider our work with you to be confidential.  Our standard agreement has a confidentiality clause.  That is why you will not see a list of clients or projects on this website.  They are your clients and projects, not ours.

Q.    Can professionals from Doctor-Sonicssm travel to meetings and project sites when necessary?

A.  Yes.  We provide site work (meetings, measurements, site observations, etc.) as well as in-office design and analysis.

Q.    How do I start utilizing Doctor-Sonicssm services?

A.     Simple, just contact us to discuss our possible involvement in your project.  You might even want to review our standard agreement and consider our scope beforehand.
